Recommend booking with Sea Suite Cruises! Had a great time with Captain Chris & his deckhand Malcolm. Very chill and willing to answer questions regarding any landmarks/buildings. Love the bar seating and table has a built-in cooler to store drinks. Had an awesome ~2 hour ride!

Looking for a place where you can drive your own boat WITHOUT a boating license?! Sea Suite Cruises let's you operate a boat by yourself and it's SO much fun.
Some of our team went out for the best boat ride on the Potomac. We checked in right at Market Pier at the Wharf, were given instructions on how to navigate the boat, and sent out for a leisurely, private cruise on the water between DC and Arlington.
We were able to reserve Gladys for our outing, which is an adorable little red, retro boat that comfortably seats 4 adults. It's a BYOB/BYOF - so we packed some snacks and a bottle of wine, which the other adults were able to enjoy (those not operating the boat). We packed a little bluetooth speaker and truly had the best time.
They had other boat style available to rent too, which can seat anywhere from 4 to 10 people. They do take walk-ins, but you'll definitely want to book in advance to make sure you can secure a boat for your whole party. The booking process was super easy through their website!
Nick, who got us situated, gave us the full run down, answered all of our questions, and made sure we felt confident and comfortable to to head out on our own and steer/drive the boat ourselves! He walked through everything in a terminology that was easy for the general person to understand, so if you don't have much boating knowledge - no worries. This specific boat only went 4 mph max, which was perfect and not scary. They also have a video tutorial online which you can watch a head of time to ease any nerves if you're feeling unsure! He also gave us his phone number just incase we ran into any issues - which was a nice added reassurance!
The founders Jack Maher and Jack Walten, both born and raised in Arlington, VA (woohoo!), were awesome and helped us get situated ahead of time. This was truly a 10/10 experience and we HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for a fun group outing or private summer date night ideas in DC! We haven't seen anything else like it in this area!

Great experience on the tiki boat for my husband’s 35th birthday! We had a crew of 18 friends and there is definitely ample space on the boat for a group our size. Our captains Luke & Glen were awesome.
You can bring unlimited snacks and food on the boat. We also brought champagne and wine on with us, but they have a fully stocked bar on board that you can pay individually for (or choose the unlimited bar package).
It was a HOT day out but the breeze on the water kept us cool and the shade from the tiki boat. We connected to the Bluetooth speaker which is a nice one and loud and had a dance party!
Also the company was very accommodating, we originally were 15 people but then added 3 more the day of the boat so I was pleased they accommodated us for that.
The company emailed me prior to day of the boat and provided clear instructions and also were responsive when I had questions.
Overall this was a great time and I’m really impressed with the staff and company. Recommend if you wanna have a fun river celebration day with your friends! Thank you!

⚠️ DO NOT book with Bad Boys Tours DMV. This was hands down the worst tour experience I’ve ever had and a complete waste of money.
The experience started late, did not match what was advertised, and the captain’s behavior became so hostile that I genuinely felt unsafe. I was threatened during the tour, and after it ended I called the police because I feared for my safety.
I have photos and videos documenting what I experienced and have requested a full refund. If you’re considering booking with Bad Boys Tours DMV, I strongly encourage you to think twice and do your research first.

What a fantastic way to spend 90 minutes! We had a group of 10 and took one of the smaller boats captained by Jack and Josh. We left from the Navy Yard and cruised to the Wharf. It was a gorgeous day and we had a ball. Jack and Josh were awesome. I live in DC and I will absolutely do this again and I will be requesting Jack and Josh.

This was such a cool experience and honestly one of the most unique date ideas we’ve done. My girlfriend and I rented one of the retro boats for two hours to celebrate one year since we first met, and it ended up being the perfect way to spend the day.
Being able to cruise around by ourselves, take in the views, and just enjoy each other’s company while watching the World Cup was awesome! The boat was easy to operate, well maintained, and had a ton of character.
The staff made everything simple from the beginning and made sure we felt comfortable before heading out.
If you’re looking for something different to do with a significant other, I highly recommend this. It was relaxing, fun, and created a memory we’ll both remember for a long time. We’d absolutely do it again.

I cannot say enough amazing things about my experience on this cruise. The booking process was extremely easy. I kept in touch with a representative to easily make updates to my reservation. The staff on board were fabulous!!!! I recommend this to anyone that wants to celebrate with a large group and I will absolutely be booking this experience again in the future!

We had an incredible time celebrating my friend for his bachelor party. Captain Matt and Emma have an incredible vibe. Capt. Matt is a true DMV native and is a wealth of knowledge of the landmarks along the waterfront and beyond. Emma keeps the everyone safe and the party going. Book with them if you can!

Our group 14 had such a good time on the boat with Malcolm and Captain Luke! It was the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Our cruise was BYOB and snacks, so we got to enjoy ourselves while seeing DC from the water, which was a first for us. Would highly recommend, and hope to do it again next year.

It's our second time renting the Tiki Bar and touring the Potomac. Captain and his assitant are very attentive, we brought lunch which was fun to eat while cruising, and the drink selection was great.

Had the best time! The instructions to drive were straight forward and easy. The boat moves slow so it isn’t noisy or windy (which I appreciated). Really enjoyed our time! Will be doing it again.

I didn’t rent the boat myself, a family friend did for her birthday and we had a BLAST! We had Maggie and Luke and they were very nice and friendly. I’d definitely go back! 10/10!!

Awesome night! The captain and skipper were so friendly and made sure me and my friends had a great evening celebrating a bachelorette party!! There was a beautiful sunset and the captain gave us monuments as backdrops for pictures and positioned us to see planes fly overhead. Definitely recommend this as an activity. It was a hit in my group!

This was a really great experience - went twice - once with friends and their young kids (who were mesmerized by the waves, ships, birds, etc.), and once with girlfriends celebrating a 40+ birthday. The crew is approachable and communication is seamless - a human responds relatively quickly to your queries via text. The location was easy to find, and the ride was as advertised. I'd recommend and would return again. Thank you for the excellent customer service and the upfront pricing. BYOB made it fun, we played our music, and everyone was super relaxed. P.S. crew said September is a great time to get out on the water.
